So you have bought your brand new football shirt and have chosen your desired football shirt printing from our website. The next challenge is to print it on your jersey, without risking making a mess of it and ruining your shirt.
Printing a name and number on your shirt is not a particularly difficult task, but it is also worth being sure about what you are doing before diving in so as not to ruin your expensive replica shirt.
To explain the theory of applying football shirt printing, you apply heat to the name and number transfers, which come on a protective plastic card. Once sufficient heat has been added, you simply peel off the card and the printing will remain on the shirt.
The most common problems for shirts not printing correctly are the wrong amount of heat being applied. If not enough heat is applied, the transfer may not stick to the shirt and may instead remain stuck on the plastic. If too much heat is applied, there becomes a risk that the heat will melt, possibly ruining the shirt.
How Much Heat Do I Apply?
While most shirt printing is fairly standard, we prefer not to give a generic answer to this as sometimes certain prints will deviate slightly from the norm and so if you are not sure, please contact us with details of the prints you have purchased and our team will be happy to discuss with you.
Shirt Printing Options
We have a specialised heat press which we use for all football kit printing and this is the recommended method for applying the name and number to the shirt.
However, it is possible to perform the task by using a domestic iron although please check the settings on the iron before proceeding. The important thing is to make sure the heat is distributed evenly and consistently.
The final option, which we recommend if you are not fully confident about how to apply the printing, is to send the shirt to us for printing. We are happy to perform this service for a small charge and will return the jersey to you promptly via a recorded delivery service.
Please contact us if you would like to discuss this service.
